HOW TO MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF DURING A BUSY WEEK
If you're anything like me, you probably feel incredibly busy most of the time. But that doesn't mean you have to give up on your self-care! In fact, there are plenty of ways to squeeze in some self-care during a busy week. Here are a few of my favorites.
1. Take 10 minutes every morning to do something that you love. This could be anything from reading a book to taking a bubble bath to drinking a cup of tea with your girlfriend. Just do whatever make you feel happy and relaxed!
2. Go for a walk after dinner each night. It's a great way to relax your mind before bed and lower your stress levels.
3. Get more sleep. When I'm extremely busy I often end up getting less than the recommended amount of sleep. That's a big mistake! Getting enough sleep makes me feel better and makes my week more productive.
4. Schedule time for yourself each day. It's important to have some time to yourself each day in order to recharge your batteries and do the things that are important to you.
5. Enjoy a simple meal at home every day. Cooking a delicious meal for your loved ones is one of life's greatest pleasures, so why not make time for it during a busy week?
6. Meditate for five minutes each morning. Meditation is a great way to calm your mind, lower your blood pressure, and relieve stress and anxiety. It is also a great way to reflect on the previous day and how to improve the new day and it also makes you a happier person.
7. Put your phone away for an hour every night. Putting your phone down and getting out of your PJs gives you a chance to unwind after a long workday.
8. Start a gratitude journal. Write down five things you're grateful for every day and see how your mood changes throughout the week!
9. Spend some time with friends/family on the weekends. You're lucky if you have amazing friends and family to spend time with, so use your free time with them wisely!
10. Make plans for the weekend in advance. If you plan ahead, you won't waste any precious weekend time and you'll be more likely to actually follow through with your plans
!11. Take an afternoon nap when you're feeling exhausted. Napping is great for recharging your batteries and feeling more relaxed at the end of the day!
12. Say no to extra commitments when possible. Sometimes it's important to say no to extra commitments so you can rest up and be productive at work. over working yourself only adds to your stress level and will make it more difficult to get anything done!
13. Exercise regularly to improve mood and reduce stress.
Sleep is one of the most important things we can do for our health and well-being. However, it is often one of the first things to be sacrificed when things get busy in our lives. So no matter how busy the week gets for you, make sure to take time to do a couple of the things listed above. It may seem difficult at first but once you get into the habit of making time for yourself you will be much better off for it!
