How to get past self-doubt
In any endeavor, it can be difficult to overcome doubt and insecurity. When it comes to your career, there are a few things you can do to get past self-doubt and start confidently pursuing your goals. Here are a few tips to get you started:
1. Believe in yourself - It's easy to doubt yourself and to think that you'll never be successful. But the truth is that you often don't know what you're capable of until you try. If there's something you want to do, tell yourself that you can do it and then find a way to make it happen. Remember that failure is never fatal, it's simply part of the process of success.
2.Embrace your uniqueness - You may feel insecure about certain parts of your personality or the way you look. But it's important to remember that you don't have to be like everyone else to be successful. Focus on your strengths and skills and don't be afraid to be different.
3. Make the most of your time - Sometimes it can be hard to start working toward your goal. You may feel like you have nothing of value to offer or that you are just not good enough. But don't let this stop you from following your dreams.
4. Be kind to yourself – whenever you feel like you made a terrible mistake like in the past and you want to criticize yourself, remember not to be too hard on yourself. We often tend to criticize ourselves instead of saying positive things when things go wrong. So when you plan to do something and you feel like backing out because of you’re afraid you will fail or get insulted say something good to yourself or talk to yourself like you will talk to a friend in the same situation.
5. Keep good company- the kind of friends that we keep are a critical in shaping our personality or in this case our self-esteem. Friends that make you feel like you’re a loser are the kind that you should stay away from. Their words keep reminding you of your self-doubt and that what you don’t need. You need to surround yourself with friends who appreciate you and love you for who you are and who you ae not. This will go a long way helping you to be confident and not feel like a loser but someone who is loved and cherished by some people.
6. Don’t compare yourself with others – doubting yourself can arise when you start comparing yourself with friends, family members, colleagues or even celebrities. The fact that they are doing better or excelling doesn’t mean you don’t have strengths. Instead of spending time comparing yourself to other people and feeling like you are nothing, focus on your strengths and build them. Everyone has their own strength and despite what you say to yourself about being a loser you actually have some gifts that some is going to appreciate or gifts that can help others and yourself.
Self-doubt is something almost everyone has had to deal with at some point of their lives but it is something that you can get past and but behind you by believing in yourself, being kind to yourself, keeping good company, and not comparing yourself to others
